Projects
R&D Engineer
October 2023 - Present
My engineering team and I meet weekly on Thursdays to brainstorm project ideas for the 2024
NASA Big Idea Inflatable Challenge. Following a recent literature review, we've generated 24 ideas. Our plan is to narrow these down to 6 options and ultimately select one by December. Upon idea selection, we will draft a project proposal and initial designs. Approval will enable us to commence with project design and development.
Mechanical Arm Engineer
September 2023 - Present
I am currently involved in the redesign of Whatney's arm for our rover, with the goal of meeting
the challenge requirements for the 2024 URC Utah competition. Simultaneously, I am
contributing to other projects, such as the Life Detection Auger and Mock Lander, which play a
crucial role in advancing our rover testing efforts.
Nova Biomedical Co-Op
Manufacturing Engineer
June 2023 - Present
During my co-op at Nova Biomedical, I significantly improved the efficiency and
precision of the sensor department by 3D printing over 50 fixtures. I implemented ASME Y14-5 GD&T standards to create drawings for the Controls Machine Room, a crucial component of Nova's BioProfile Controls Solution. Additionally, I conducted modeling and reverse engineering for 20+ machine components. This involved producing comprehensive documentation, including electrical and pneumatic schematics, maintenance procedures, quotations, engineering change orders, and operating instructions for both existing machinery and new parts.
Design & Test Engineer
February 2023 - April 2023
Before joining the club, the AerospaceNU propulsion subteam experienced an explosion that
damaged the current injector plate. I addressed this issue by designing a replacement plate,
procuring stainless steel from McMaster, and having it water jet-cut. Subsequently, the new
plate was skillfully brazed onto the injector.
Mechanical Engineer
October 2022 - March 2023
In my second year at Northeastern University, I joined AerospaceNU, where I worked with a focused team to design, build, and launch a 5-foot rocket with dual deployment capabilities,
aiming for a 3000-foot peak altitude during the six-month project.
Flexible Quadrotors
Student Researcher
June 2022 - August 2022
Collaborating with a professor and another mechanical engineering student, I researched
dynamic high-speed quadrotors in proximity to obstacles. The primary focus was on optimizing
time and materials, developing simulations, drafting algorithms, and conducting obstacle testing
to improve quadrotor flexibility in dynamic environments.
Myowearable Sleeve
Electronics Engineer,
Cornerstone of Engineering I and II
October 2021 - January 2022
I collaborated with four engineering students to develop the Myowearable, a sleeve-mounted
medical device that uses sEMG sensors to monitor muscle stimulation. It analyzes muscles
contracting and extending to assess muscle fatigue, providing real-time feedback and planning
to personalize limits based on user characteristics. This user-friendly device employs graphical
data representations and Fourier analysis to effectively reduce injury risks.
Automatic Pill Dispenser
Personal Project, Instrumentation & Automation
July 2020 - September 2020
I developed a prototype multi-compartment dispenser to efficiently dispense multiple pill types, reducing spillage commonly associated with traditional pill capsules. I integrated an LCD
screen, infrared sensors, and servo motors to incorporate dispensing mechanisms.
