i have a Will Why Should I Want A Trust?
I grew up on a farm in Day County SD. I did more than my fair share of milking cows, putting up hay, working the summer-fallow, swathing, working the cows… believe it or not, I got paid too!! three hots and a cot!! I really didn’t appreciate it at the time but dad set me up with the responsibilities I needed to be where I am today and I am very grateful for all the experiences he gave me! I graduated high school in 1989 from Groton, SD. I attended South Dakota State University in the fall of 1989 and earned an Associates in Agriculture in 1992. In 1994 finished my Bachelors of Science in Business from Northern State University in Aberdeen, SD
I’ve been self-employed for the majority of the past 20 some years. When you love what you do, you never work a day in your life!

I Have A Will. Why Should I Want A Trust?
A Will is only a first step and is simply a set of instructions for a judge to enforce. Many people don’t realize that a Will must be verified and approved by a Probate Court before it can be enforced.
Also, because a Will only goes into effect after you die, it does not provide any protection should you become incapacitated. In such an event, your loved one would have to institute a Legal Guardianship in order to take over your affairs. Guardianship is a legal proceeding with a judge overseeing and approving the administration of your estate.
A Revocable Living Trust is an alternative estate planning tool. Unlike a Will, a Revocable Living Trust avoids guardianships and probate. It is a proven method that can eliminate the need for court oversight and supervision should you become incapacitated or after you die.
