Tutoring Experiences

Tutoring Experiences

Throughout my academic journey, I've leveraged my knowledge and passion to accumulate over 1,000 hours of tutoring experience, both in-person and virtually, in order to create an inspiring and effective learning environment.

In addition to my engineering pursuits, I initially considered education as an alternative career path. It served as a valuable supplementary venture during my university studies and co-op experiences. My unwavering passion for sharing knowledge not only allowed me to revisit and reinforce my grasp of concepts from previous coursework but also motivated and guided younger students toward achieving academic excellence.

Below are the list of subjects I have tutored for the past three years.

High School

Freshman COE Students

Upperclassmen Mechanical Engineering Courses

High School Mathematics Tutor (Virtual)
February 2022 - January 2023

Varsity Tutors marked my introduction to online virtual tutoring during my freshman year of college. I specialized in SAT Mathematics and Algebra 2, crafting customized lesson plans for each student. These sessions were facilitated through Varsity's web board platform. Notably, I achieved a top 10% ranking among SAT Math tutors on the platform.

1st Level College Tutor (Virtual)
May - December 2022 & May - June 2023

I initiated college-level virtual tutoring through the Peer Tutoring Program, shifting from the test-focused high school approach to emphasizing fundamental understanding. Tutoring sessions were appointment based via the Navigate platform, and I utilized Google Meet and Google Jamboard for effective engagement.

COE First Year & ME Upperclassmen Tutor (Hybrid) September 2022 - Present

I began in-person tutoring at Northeastern University's COE Tutoring Center from September 2022 to April 2023, assisting first-year engineering students with MATLAB, SolidWorks, and courses like Physics 2, Calculus, and Linear Algebra. In May 2023, I was promoted to an Upperclassmen Mechanical Engineering Tutor, conducting virtual drop-in sessions for subjects such as Statics and Thermodynamics. I anticipate continuing in this role and resuming my first-year in-person tutoring in January 2024.

High School Private Tutor (Virtual) January 2023 - Present

Upon concluding my one-year contract with Varsity Tutors, I transitioned to independent work. Leveraging connections and recommendations, I tutored high school students nationwide, focusing on subjects such as SAT Mathematics, Introductory Physics, Pre-Calculus, and more. I also collaborated with Rebecca DeBoard, an expert in SAT Reading and high school humanities.
