Organizations

AerospaceNU

September 2022 - September 2023

During my sophomore year of college, I actively engaged with AerospaceNU, contributing to two projects: "Introduction to Airframe" and the "RedShift Propulsion subteam." In "Introduction to Airframe," I helped design and launch a 5-foot rocket with dual deployment capabilities, reaching an altitude of 3000 feet. My role included creating the nose cone, blast caps, and coupler. In the "RedShift Propulsion subteam," I conducted pneumatic testing, designed injector plates, and worked with horizontal and vertical test stands and manifold systems.

NURover

September 2023 - Present

I have recently joined NURover, primarily focusing on participating in the URC 2024 competition. Within the mechanical division, I actively contribute to two subteams: the arm team and the mobility team. The arm team is currently involved in a thorough redesign project, which includes integrating a drill, improving gripping mechanisms, and enhancing flexibility. Concurrently, my objective within the mobility team is to enhance the rover's suspension system to optimize navigation on rugged terrain.

NUSEDs

September 2023 - Present

Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (NUSEDs) serves as the primary space club at Northeastern University. I have been actively engaged in numerous space-related networking and social events. More recently, I have taken part in the NASA Big Idea 2024 challenge, an endeavor that entails college students designing innovative inflatable materials for lunar moon missions while adhering to a budget range of $50,000 to $150,000. Presently, our team is in the initial phases of crafting a proposal and brainstorming ideas for the project.

ASME

March 2021 - Present

My involvement with the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) is a continuous opportunity to enhance my mechanical engineering skills. I attend industry meetings and workshops, exploring topics like Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and Sheet Metal—complementary to my coursework. ASME's networking events connect me with representatives from diverse companies, and the workshops strengthen my technical proficiency. ASME is an essential platform for building professional relationships with fellow mechanical engineers.

ISNU

September 2021 - Present

I have been a dedicated member of the Islamic Society at Northeastern University (ISNU) since my freshman year in 2021. However, my involvement has significantly deepened during my second and third years, reflecting a stronger commitment to the organization. I actively participate in our weekly Monday Deen and Dine gatherings at Ell Hall, engaging in cultural discussions and strengthening connections within the Muslim community. I also played an active role in various activities, including Friday Brother Events and Iftar Nights during the recent Ramadan season from March to April 2023. Looking ahead, I eagerly anticipate contributing to more extensive and impactful events within ISNU.

NUAGE

April 2023 - Present

Northeastern University Association of Gaming Enthusiasts (NUAGE), the board game club holds meetings on Friday and Saturday evenings at 7 pm EST. Occasionally, I join these meetings to relax and socialize with friends and fellow club members. Some of the games I've had the pleasure of playing include Root, Hanabi, and Apiary.
