{"id":16187,"date":"2023-09-13T20:14:35","date_gmt":"2023-09-13T20:14:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/testv45.demowebsitelinks.com\/ColleenKeane\/?p=16187"},"modified":"2023-09-13T20:15:19","modified_gmt":"2023-09-13T20:15:19","slug":"number-of-drilling-rigs-in-san-juan-basin-sparks-optimism","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/testv45.demowebsitelinks.com\/ColleenKeane\/2023\/09\/13\/number-of-drilling-rigs-in-san-juan-basin-sparks-optimism\/","title":{"rendered":"Number of drilling rigs in San Juan Basin sparks optimism"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>FARMINGTON (AP)<\/strong> \u2014 A recent increase in the number of drilling rigs operating in the San Juan Basin is sparking optimism that the downturn in oil and gas production may turn around.<\/p>\n<p>The Daily Times of Farmington, New Mexico, reports there currently are four active rigs in the basin \u2013 a significant jump in 16 months.<\/p>\n<p>The last time a weekly rig report listed four or more active drilling rigs in the basin was November 2015. During subsequent months, that number gradually dwindled to just one rig.<\/p>\n<p>New Mexico Oil and Gas Association spokesman Wally Drangmeister says each operating drilling rig creates around 50 to 75 full-time jobs.<\/p>\n<p>Two of the active rigs belong to BP America.
