First Native American rapper to be featured in Arizona Hip-Hop Festival will soon have a new album and tour datesand doing it for fun,” said King Blizz.
It wasn’t until 2014 King Blizz would begin his career as an MC and begin performing around the Phoenix metropolitan area at open mics and opening slots for other artists.
King Blizz started working with well known underground hip-hop group Respected Underground with known artist Ace Hood while in his early years in Phoenix.
He is known to be the first Native American rapper to be featured in the Arizona Hip-Hop Festival in Phoenix, performing there for the last three years and planning another appearance this year.
“That was a good experience for me,” said King Blizz, who added a few other Native American performers have performed at the hip-hop fest since then.
Before he releases “Dark Shades Bright Future,” King Blizz said he plans on releasing a couple of music videos with an acquaintance.
“I plan to release a couple of music videos, one in the spring and one in the summer,” said King Blizz.
He will also release a tribute to his friend and band mate Yung E., who passed away in the summer of 2016.
“He was a great artist and a wonderful person,” said King Blizz.
King Blizz also has two scheduled shows this year, the Arizona Hip-Hop Fest and a show in Gallup in June, featuring various of Native American hip-hop and rap artists from around the Four Corners.
After the release of his album, King Blizz plans to tour the whole West Coast including Oakland, California; Seattle; San Diego, California and Las Vegas, Nevada. “
This year I am going to branch out. It’s going to be a big year and I can’t wait to get it started,” said King Blizz.
He is recording his new album in various studios across the Valley of the Sun, working with different producers on different songs.
“It’s hard to say where we are recording, I’m working in a lot of places,” said King Blizz.
